I always dreamed of returning to the Alps after spending two seasons in Val’disere during my 20’s. After University, I landed myself a job as a Chalet Host, I loved it so much I returned the following season as a Chalet Manager. It was during those two years I discovered an unconditional love for the mountains. On returning to the UK in 2010, I found my calling as a Sports Massage Therapist and have never looked back. After 7 years in London, I am returning to the alps to do the job I love and enjoy the adventures of living in the mountains with my husband.
My experience as a Sports Massage Therapist spans 5+ years, working in several multidisciplinary clinics in London. During this time, I have been fortunate to work within the world of elite international rugby. For the past three years I have worked with the England 7’s squad and within the past year provided pre-and post-match recovery massage for the England 15’s. The majority of my work however, is in clinic where I see a wide range of clientele. Day to day, I treat aches and pains from bad posture, minor sports injuries and general stress and tension.
Passion for my work comes from a desire to help others, creating a sense of well-being, by reducing mental and physical stress. Massage aids recovery time from training by kneading out the toxins, tightness and soreness from the muscles. Using a variety of soft tissue release techniques, optimal performance can be achieved by improving function within the body.
Sports massage uses specific techniques to work into areas of tissue dysfunction, to improve circulation and restore soft tissue health. A range of techniques will be used to work deep into the muscle and fascia, breaking down scar tissue for regeneration of new muscle tissue. Long deep strokes, trigger point therapy and stretching techniques will ease the build-up of tension from physical activity, work and general day to day activities. Sports massage can be used as a preventative tool by maintaining tissue health, as well as part of the recovery process of minor injuries, aiding recovery by alleviating pain and tension.
This form of treatment is a full body massage working into the deep layers of the muscles and fascia, realigning the fibres and easing out tensions built up through day to day living and
activity. Deep tissue massage helps release chronic muscle tension built up over time, leaving you feeling relaxed both mentally and physically.
As your body changes throughout pregnancy, areas can become achy and swollen. A gentle massage can help alleviate the build-up of tension felt around common areas such as the shoulders, neck, lower back and ankles. Using pillows and towels, you will be positioned comfortably on your side while your aches and pains are eased away.
Hot Stone massage is a deeply relaxing treatment, using heated basalt stones to massage the body offering both mental and physical relaxation. The warm stones soften the muscles, improving the bodies circulation, enabling the techniques to work deep and effectively. The increase in circulation encourages blood flow, easing any restrictions and melting away tension.
